It's has been really fantastic to have a professional work with the children. They have enjoyed the club so much and the parents talk about how keen and enthusiastic their children are when they get home. It is really exciting to have the eco-schools awards to work towards as well, this teaches the children the importance of issue such as: energy, water, biodiversity and seasonal food. I recommend it whole-heartedly!

Thanks to Green up your Acts help we managed to achieve our Silver Eco Award.
Phil Hunton helped our school to establish an after School Club. With his practical help each week and by sharing his experience and resources, the children worked together to establish a Mini Beast Mansion in one corner of the playground and a wormery, which was made from a recycled bedside cabinet. Phil fueled the group with practical and straightforward ideas, advising us how to make the most of the projects. He is now helping us to work towards our Green Flag, by carrying our Eco group forward with an across the school composting scheme and helping us to implement energy saving ideas as part of the 10:10 initiative. It has been really refreshing to have such experienced, practical and reliable help with our after school work, with Phil as our advisor and friend to keep us going for our goals. We have really enjoyed our work and are looking forward to future projects to keep us on course for the Green Flag.
