We really enjoyed our workshop with Philip Hunton it was thought provoking. The students were engaged to think about, food waste, packaging nutrition, and global perspective. They thoroughly enjoyed the workshop this will be a good reminder for them to think green.

A lovely hands on workshop. The concept was brilliant and your collection of recycled artefacts were great. The links with the globe were ideal for early years as they can identify with this. The making of the pots was a wonderful idea and we are looking forward to having Philip back for more workshops.

All of our classes enjoyed their inspiring and hands on activities of making pots and planting them with food seedlings - all in just one hour for each class workshop. The activity had many links for each class with their science and creative curriculum and with our Eco week themes. This was the highlight of our school Eco Week because it linked every aspect of our educational focus: food, transport, reduce, reuse, recycle, simplicity, co-operation; there was no preparation required on the part of the teachers and we were amazed at what could come out of two handmade baskets carried on the bus - enough to provide every child with their own pot making material, the compost and a variety of food seedlings to go in it.
This was a workshop of huge educational value and one which every child learnt a practical skill of immense value, as well as getting to take their seedling home to grow and eat.
We are looking forward to more input another time.

The whole school really enjoyed your assembly about the importance of recycling which was made even more interesting when you showed them the items that had been made from recycled material.
The pratical activity of recycling newspaper to make a plant pot and planting seedlings was a good hands on activity in which all of our pupils were able to experience success.
Many thanks Phil!

The children at Elm Grove Primary School had a fantastic morning learning about the importance of recycling. There was a good balance of listening, discussion and practical activities. The children learnt how to make plant pots from old newspapers and planted seedlings to take home. It was great to have Philip come to our school and we are looking forward to our follow up visit to the Earthship in the summer.
