The Aim of the Eco programme is to work with a school over a longer period of time. This enables us to reach green targets and develop a grounding of learning which encourages students to make informed choices in regards to the environment. The programmes are usually weekly, monthly, or termly installments, with four to five classes a day, up to 30 pupils in each class.
We use our core Environmental workshops as an introduction to a variety of green issues which we then explore in more detail within the programme. All sessions involve hands on activities with theoretical teaching to encourage a complete understanding of the subjects we tackle.
All of our Eco programmes are individually tailored to your school, including number of sessions and academic level. We have already worked with over a hundred very different schools all over the UK.
Here are some of the projects and activities schools can chose from:
- Working towards an Eco School flag – Bronze, Silver or Green
- Growing seasonal food, either in a pop up allotment or in raised beds, to take home or use at school
- Biodiversity Workshops to increase natures presence in the school grounds including a butterfly cafe and bug hotel.
- Upcycling is the process of converting waste materials or useless products into new materials or products of better quality or for better environmental value.
