Some recent feedback:
“Having worked with Philip a few times before, we knew that we were going to get a well-prepared and engaging workshop. This time was a little different, as Philip adapted brilliantly to deliver the sessions via Zoom to over 400 pupils over 2 days! The experience didn’t lack any of the passion, interest or powerful messaging that we have come to expect from Green Up Your Act. Over the two days all of our Year 1 to 8 pupils were able to engage in Philip’s interesting talks and take home a memento of the session. We care very much about environmental education here at the school and Philip’s philosophy aligns perfectly with our thinking. Many thanks Philip, we’ll see you again next year!” David Boynes – Head of Prep School – Holme Grange School
“The workshop was excellent, thank you and he year 3 teacher was very positive about it too and said her pupils got a lot out of it. I think it really emphasised to the children the fact that plastic waste from anywhere can end up in the oceans which is important for our land-locked children to understand! Thank you again for providing us with the lesson and the materials for the fish- they look great and we will be making a lovely display of them soon.” Rebecca Rothwell – Sutton Primary School – North Yorkshire
“During our Earth Week all of the children in the school took part in really engaging and fun online workshops run by Green Up Your Act. They were fantastic! Philip discussed environmental subjects in a way that engaged each year group, and showed the children some the wonderful things he had made by up-cycling materials, which amazed the children and has inspired some creations they have now made. Philip modelled how to use everything, providing clear instructions for each step so clearly via Microsoft Teams making it really easy for children to follow. The children and staff were so engaged throughout and the children were so proud of what they had produced. We can’t wait for next Earth Week so we can take part in some more educational, engaging and exciting workshops by Green Up Your Act!” Anya James – Elm Wood School – Earth Week – Green Shoots and Up-cycling workshops
“Green Up Your Act Education have recently provided us with two remote, online workshops which have been based around growing our own food at home. During the first session, our young people enjoyed crafting plant pots from recycled material and learning how to best plant from seed and how to care for them. During the second workshop we were able to review the
progress of our growing and share hints and tips. We also up-cycled milk bottles to use as our own watering cans for our new plants. Philip planned the sessions so that they were informative, engaging and provoked thought and questions for the young people. Each young person left the session wanting to know more, and requesting further content! Thanks so much for working with us and inspiring our young people to become keen home growers.” Miriam Biggin – Service Delivery Manager – Whizzkidz Online Sessions
